Our Story

Our story begins… one uneventful day when Brent Jones was introduced to Lief Chou through a mutual friend in gifted class at Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville, LA. From that point on it would be hard to tell us apart on paper. After graduation, we headed to LSU for undergrad, pursuing degrees in petroleum engineering before switching our majors to construction management junior year. We ran in the same circles, lived in the same apartment, took the same summer classes, and went to all the same football games. 

We completed our degrees in 2015 and landed jobs with New Orleans-based general contractor, Broadmoor, soon after. We worked our way up the PM (project manager) track, assisting and eventually managing builds over $40M in value. By 2020 it was time for a change, looking for remote positions that would allow us to work from home, we were hired on by Marco’s Pizza, a nationwide brand, to lead design and construction. 

Going from managing one multi-million dollar project at a time to managing the design and construction of over 200, $200k projects across the country didn’t turn out to be as different as you might think.

Our big commercial perspectives turned out to be our biggest asset, establishing efficient processes, cleaning up brand standards, and forging new partnerships that helped Marco’s pipeline run smoother and faster than ever before.

Today, we’re taking our unique, cross-industry experience and bringing it all together under one roof. We started Jones & Chou Properties in 2021 to offer general contracting services, owner’s representation and construction management for small business owners and franchisees, consulting services for franchisors, and partnerships with commercial real estate investors who all, at the end of the day, need just one thing: efficient, trustworthy construction partners. 

If putting up with each other for the last 15 years has taught us anything, it’s the importance of having someone in your corner that you trust. Our skill sets are different–Brent’s the big picture guy while Lief is meticulous about the details–but that’s what makes us a great team. We’re young, hands-on, and we’re doing things a little bit different. Construction expertise, when you need it most.
